Some people may find this useful:) I know I did when I tried to find the HP range of my TD06.

Great for pistons, half it (not quite literally) for rotors!

Sorry to say this, but its not much use at all as you have no idea of the actual parameters that are being compared. You really need compressor maps to infer much about the capabilities of a turbo.

As 20b boy says its a guide for pistons,  i have a T78 turbo on the chart it comes just under 700bhp whereas i\'m making 460bhp. Also a Nissan Skyline running a T78 was making 780bhp.

But its a good guide anyhow thanks for the listing of different turbo\'s people will get a decent idea of which turbos make the most hp.:)

That list also does not take into account the compression ratio may be higher or lower than standard depending on the engine build, This can make a big differrence cause once you go past a certain hp every little bit you gain can make a big difference and that goes for rotary or piston engines.

Martin

hmmm... I didn\'t think of that... maybe take away 100bhp per turbo? roughly?

Dont think there\'s any hard/fast method of deduction here as Bill said. Turbos come with many different housings combinations, which change their potential outputs and overal characteristics greatly.

And then you have to remember that is the max power. Normally the hp mesurments are running 2 - 2.5 bar  of boost so if you are only running 1.3 bar you have no chance of getting those horse power reading. Any way its the torque figure that matters BHP is only good if you are in Max Power Magazine or want to impress your mates.
