NO RX-8 Turbo !!!!!!

Yesterday l found why the talk of the RX-8 Turbo or Supercharger option has gone so quiet.

Mazda are developing their own car to take on the Rally World as they unsuccessfully tried to in the early 1990\'s with the 323,

Transmission will be based on the system about to go into production with the new 4 wheel drive Mazda 6.

Apparently according to my sources this new RX-8 that will not only take the Rallying world by storm but also the road car market in late 2005.

But the real exciting bit is that this new car will be powered by a normally aspirated 3 Rotor Engine using small housings to keep the Engine compact [10A housings?

] coupled with the 4WD system !.

I heard the same thing Clive.
What I thought was interesting about the project was that they are going to use Hydrogen as the fuel to really promote that the rotary can be quick in motorsport with Hydrogen.
I also heard that the RX8 is now available in Japan with the Hydrogen option but it must have the Mazdaspeed kit on the car.It cost\'s around Â£37000.00 with this all fitted.
The only downside is that the rear doors are peramantly shut because they have created a special compartment where the rear passengers sat to house the hydrogen fuel cell.
Of course it is sealed off from the rest of the passenger compartment.
The rumour mill has it that the 3 rotor engine will be bigger than the 3 rotor engine for the world rally car in the new RX7,have you heard that Clive?

Cool ... I\'d heard rumblings about a rally car but presumed it would be bases on the mazda 3 (focus) platform.

any idea what rally championship they are thinking of ? surely it won\'t be WRC ?!?!
