Handbrake handle removal on a FD3,

Im picking up a carbon mazdaspeed one tomorrow but i cant get the bloody
original one off:2Rolleyes

Any ideas greatly appricated.

cut if off bud, but only little bits at a time, so the new one is a snug fit
