Hello guys. And a happy new year.

I have a bit of an issue with my 8bit FD and am seeking advice from anyone that has any ideas. It is easy to fear the worst and over look the simple things. ...........I hope.

Ok i had an issue with my starter motor sticking once my car was started. I swapped the starter but after a while (few weeks) this one also appeared to stick and not disengage after i started the car all the time.

I was going to get in the car the other day (about october time) when it was dark and the ignition stuck for a while but then i saw either heat haze or smoke coming through my bonnet vents from the passenger side of the car. It was dark so i can\'t really confirm what happened. Since then my car hasn\'t started.

I wasn\'t sure if the smoke/haze may have been my spark amp blowing up. I bypassed that and the car still fails to fire. I have a spare igniter that i haven\'t tried to fit yet but i hope to do this over the weekend.

Can anyone offer any advice please and suggest any other possible causes apart from:

igniter?
HKS spark amp (removed for time being)
PFC ECU?
Wiring loom? I hope not.
Coil packs?

Thank you very much for any advice that you can offer.

Daz

I hope to start getting my car back on the road for japfest.
