Hi peeps,
I\'m looking into sorting a v-mount and most i\'ve seen have the rad at the bottom and i/c at the top, can you do it the other way around? (thinking of heat soat and rad at the top would stop the I/C heating up when stationary and when giving it the beans i\'ll be moving so should have plenty of air to cool things down)
Secondly would I be ok to drive the car to a tuner to get it mapped once i\'ve fitted a v-mount if I drive like a granny?
Basically i\'ve got a pfc to be fitted and mapped and i\'m thinking of buying a bigger I/C and sorting out a v-mount before i get the pfc mapped nad doing it all in one go. Or would a standard FMIC do seeing as i only plan on driving the car on the streets?

Thanks guys and gals

i guess there no real reason bobbet other than airs lighter than water i guess its better to have the heavier object lower for handling

isnt the idea of having the radiator at the bottom and at the opposite angle to channel air up onto the intercooler? i guess it would be the same though because it would still get air running over it, but also wouldnt the rad get hotter at the top? just thinking out loud but wouldnt it be better to keep the water cool rather that keep the air cool and let the engine strugle keeping cool? either way your gonna get heatsoak in traffic and the rad and ic will both keep cool wen driving anyway lol

I thought about this. I also found it has been done, found a pick on rx7club.
There\'s a couple of issues.
1. You have to mount a rad lower than the high point of the coolant system so you can bleed the system.
2. This comprimises the angles of which you can have the rad and cooler.
3. Pipes will now be aslong as a FMIC setup

Ok so sounds like it\'s a no go with the rad at the top then, coolio.
Will I be ok to drive like to a tuner with a v-mount fitted then before it\'s mapped?

It\'s a good idea and it makes sence in a way but once you really look into it, i came to the conclusion the normal way round works best.

I know, my head made sense in a funny sort of way, but with the fluid level, extending water pipes etc the normal way gets my vote.

Thanks for the advice guys, appreciate it!
