straight throw exhaust

hi all
going to put a straigt throw mid pipe on my 3rd gen rx, do i need to change the setting on my pfc or will it be ok

As in from the turbo back, downpipe back, or cat back?

You really need a remap after fitting.

got no cat on down pipe and mid pipe was mapped for silenced mid no cat and now want to put stright throw mid pipe on it

My advice would be to not go unsilenced because it is insanely loud, I\'ve done it I know.

If you like that sort of thing then my next piece of advice is to not do it until you have a good electronic boost controller that will protect you from overboosting. Without one and a straight through pipe (even with a well mapped pfc) you run a serious risk of det under heavy load.

HHmmm, With a safe map you will be fine but if your pushing injectors etc i,e 0.9 bar @ 90%+ injector duty you are risking it as you have no margin for error.
 
As pip explained it to me 0.8 bar with a low 80% injector duty is safe as houses even with a straight de-cat and ic. Anymore boost though and increased fuelling is required.

Unfortuantely if you experience boost creep due to an exhaust that is too free flowing, a boost controller won\'t help - You will need to either port the wastegate or install a restrictor plate in the exhaust.

ok thanks guys have got a boost gauge and have heard them will straight throw so no probs there and if i get fed up with it can allways put old one back on
