Brother in law has just re-kindled my love for the rotary by buying a 1st Gen Mk3 RX7 to do up. But whilst I grew up with a 1st Gen RX7 the 3rd Gen is just so much better looking and better performing, so I\'ve decided to blow the kid\'s inheritance and return to the RX7 fold. I\'ve decided on a series 8 (1999 on), but know I\'m not going to see any imported until they are 10yr olds to enable registration in the UK. I guess I\'m not the only one waiting for 2009/10, but I\'m trying to find out what the budget will need to be for an un-modified manual. Accepting that prices will change (probably up, due to demand) by 2009/10, I wonder if anyone has any knowledge of a database of Japanese auction prices that I can access now, to get some idea of where the budget will have to start?

I would stab a guess at around £15k if you can find one. Some clean stock RX7s are fetching more money in Japan than highly tuned as its rare to find an unmolested RX7 these days any where.

I found Bonsai Imports very helpful when I was looking for an unmodified 99+.  They sent me an Excel spreadsheet of Japanese auction prices (starting and sold) for various models and grades so I could get an idea of real prices and choose what I wanted.

I ended up finding an unmodified 2000-RS in the UK for £14,750 a couple of years ago, so probably worth ~£10-12K by now.

There was a silver one for sale in Ireland(Waterford?) recently. It\'s in the ForSale thread on this site but the post is in an unintelligible format.

Thanks for the info - will contact Bonsai.
Seen the one in Ireland on PistonHeads, but there\'s something about it that I\'m not comfy with from looking at the ad, and I\'m not going all the way there unless I\'m really keen.
Just have to be patient and see what else comes along.
