hello, ive just fitted a knightsports fuel cut defencer but it hadnt any instructions with it,so i plugged it in and earthed it.i started the car and as soon as i touch the accelerator it misses and produces a huge explosion.does anyone know whats going on?have i fitted it right?
thanks

Adam

when you say plugged it in what do you mean?  Is it hard wired in or do they come as a plug and play item????

Reason being i am only familiar with HKS ones and this involves hard wiring it into the ecu harness.

hello,it has a plug that goes into the ecu and another plug that takes the original ecu plug and a single black wire that i presume is an earth,so you plug the ecu plug into the defencer and then plug the defencer into the ecu.

either way is there a reason yer doing the FCD thing i\'m just not a big fan of them as it strikes me it\'s treating a symptom not the problem http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008\' target=\'_blank\'>http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_6_3.gif\' border=0> which can\'t be good........
Fair enough if nowt wrong other than you got one cheap i suppose but just my paranoid thoughts....
Si (x ECU had a FCD new one is a power FC http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008\' target=\'_blank\'>http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_17_7.gif\' border=0>)

yes i do have a problem with the car,its overboosting and i just want to find out why so i bought the defencer as part of my process by elimination,if that makes any sense:)

Have u got a free flowing exhaust? i needed a decent map on the Apexi ECU to sort mine out.

scooby_si

similarly mine came with oveboostig issues & FCD so that wont solve it as such IMO mine was then thou pucker with a new apexi power FC as my ECU wasn\'t communicating properly which is unlikely to be same prodblem but as i say mine was solved with new ECU....
