Probably the most misnamed product - since it does exactly the opposite ! :Giggle

It\'s basically an adaptor for the throttle body that allows the air to enter straight on and not through 90 degrees. It\'s considerably larger than the stock unit and doesn\'t have that tight 45 bend in it.

And according to the gas laws, as the volume increases, pressure or temperature or both will drop as the air passes through it

The compression tube allows for aftermarket intercoolers to be fitted, as well as the fact that it gives much better air flow than the OEM design :)

I am doing the safety mods such as the HT leads, fuel pump, charge cooling and mapping before I even try and increase the power, the car is 17 years old, if the fuel pump fails (which it might do if you push the engine) its bad lol likewise with the notoriously thin and breakable OEM HT leads, new HT leads might help with the emmissions as well anyway as the trailing plug ignites any unburnt fuel

Im going to be running this stock turbo until I get my engine rebuilt (which might be a while as its giving me 7s on both rotors @ 81k miles, I will then get it ported and then add on either a T04S, T70 or GT45 after the rebuild (I already have the shiny exhaust manifold for it lol I might swap out the secondarys after I have dynoed the car on both stock and aftermarket ECU settings before pushing for more boost, more boost + maxxed stock injectors = lean + expensive noises

On an FD it is - as theres bend around, but ours are called throttle adapators or compression tubes :)

On that last video with the FD, im racing a escort cosworth and it ran a 14.4, on that run I ran a 14.9 I think, we all know what a stock FC engine looks like, but this was his engine bay.....not really stock:

This is taken from teamFC3S.org on stock boost pressures, which mine is boosting to:

5.5psi Stock Boost for 1987-1988 Turbo II (6.2psi max peak)
7.5psi Stock Boost for 1989-1991 Turbo II (8.6psi max peak)

7.5psi = 0.51bar
8.6psi = 0.58bar

stock ECU will cut fuel at 8.6psi....grrr ive run out of map lol
