if the master window switch unit from america will fit a jap spec fd?

It will  probably fit, but it\'ll be the opposite way round.  On our RHD cars, you have a one touch wind down feature on the drivers side window. The american spec will be the opposite to ours, so if you fitted it to our cars, you would have a one touch window down on the passenger window instead.
