ok today i started replacing my vaccum hoses
(little ******* thingys -  takes some time to get to them :] )

anyway i had some boost leaks etc - nevermind , and i think i found my problem
one of them vaccum hoses was jnust hanging there, and i havent got a clue where it could be possibly connected to(tried to track it - no joy) i have taken a pic so you can see it (dont worry about white thingys-they got numbers on it so i wont mess it up) basically the thing im holding connect to the UIM and i circled it  - i know it must go there but what about the other end?

ok the other thing is that i know that behind the circled thing (i think its called solenoid rack) there is some hoses to replace, my problem is  -i dont know how to take it off without messing it up, besides i dont know how its mounted, its got one philips screw on the front(and three at the back apparently), but at the back everything is blocked with some weirid wires/hoses - u name it, and i cant get to them(dont want to strip the head :( ) - my question is have you got your ways to get the ******* thing off?

thank you for any help

Locki

Heya buddy, funnily enough I was out having a look at mine and i believe i can see what it connects to. it appears to go onto the bottom of this solenoid (or whatever it is) http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn464/Locki666/100_0207.jpg

Funny thing is, whilst i was looking at that for you, i noticed that there was nothing connected to one pipe on my solenoid rack (just a bare metal pipe sitting there) so i may have found what i\'ve been looking for all this time.

thx! this was the kinda answer i was expecting:]

now need to find out about solenoid rack :(

btw:

as far as i know there is 3 or four metal pipes under UIM that r not connected to anything..check the vaccum diagram

and cheers again!

EDIT: sorry m8, couldn\'t get back to edit the message in time, forget what i just said, i was looking at the wrong part. I found the check valve you are asking about and it\'s not the one i put in the pic. sorry m8. I\'m still having a look tho, so i\'ll try n put the correct pic up shortly.

Locki

Found it m8, it goes to the solenoid marked "G" in that hoses picture
sory about the previous c**k up lol.

Just had a closer look at mine and i\'ve found about 5 bare ends! just doesn\'t seem to be any loose hoses lying around that look as though they should fit onto them :S

davehg

not all of the metal pipes should have vacume hoses on them
There are performance cars and then there is the RX-7...........

12.3 second 1/4 mile, terminal speed of 122mph (1st ever drag run on a TO4R)

engine built by....... umm me! now powered by a T51 Kai......

Locki

sorry for now hijacking your thread m8, but dave.... you say that not all the metal pipes should be connected to something? i found about 5 with nothing on, some are just metal pipes with nothing at either end, and one or two are connected to a hose one end but nothing at the other. is this normal?

i just told you mate, i found few with nothing going to it..check the diagram..

as to my question - still waiting..:(

sickboy2345

ok at last i took my car for a spin today , and im not happy..:( basically i have a huge boost loss and i cant figure out why...

first i started the engine, started at the first time, sounded really good, taken it for a spin, on the first 2 gears everything is ok but when i get to 3rd i get 10 psi at 3200 then drop to 8 at about 5k and then huge drop to like 5 psi, also when i take my car to higher speed 120mph for example and then release the acceleration pedal i can hear the sound along with blow off really short high pitched sound (like if i blow up the baloon and then stretched the top of it and you can hear it screetching) its really short likek 1 second but really loud coz i can hear it over the stereo and engine.

also i dont know if its normal but when i look under the bonnet and rev it a bit i can see these two inttercooler hoses expanding like if they were breathing  - really quick like if it was blowing the air to the intercooler.

any ideas?

i want to start driving my car..:((((((
