Right short of just biting the bullet and doing the 400mile round trip to a rotary specialists is there anything else i can check to solve my top end boost issue.

Boost is dropping off almost straightaway on the second tub, I get a solid 0.8kg/cm on the primary a clean changeover then back up to 0.8kg/cm on the second for a moment but drops off to 0.5kg/cm and holds redline.

The car is 5k on a jimmy\'s rebuild with rebuilt turbos with a nur spec backbox and reloaded hks filters otherwise totally standard.

This has been a problem all the time i have had the car and it annoys the hell out of me as it feels like a struggle to get to redline and i am shifting up early to keep in the power:2Mad.

I have changed/checked the intake and intercooler pipes/changed the cat to a brand new one. Plugs/oil/filter all done withing the last 1k. The full standard exhaust was fitted and again it was still the same:confused:

What i dont understand is if it was a leak wouldnt i see low boost on both turbos, as on the first its rock solid????

Change all the check valves for viton replacement maybe?

I realise a pfc would probably sort out all my issues but i dont have the £800-£1000 on the hip and tbh am happy with it being standard car for now. Just one that works as it should.:2Mad

I realise this is not the first post i have made on this subject but everything you guys suggest, i try but nothing has sorted it yet.

Thanks for your patience with me.

Make sure that the pipes to the wastegate and the changover actuator have their restrictors in.
It does not need a power FC to fix the probs.

Thanks Carl i\'ll check those at the weekend.

On the same note I have also noticed very little boost at all in first gear. All other gears, as above

Thanks

Do i have to remove the hoses to check whether the restrictors are present?

by giving them a squeeze will i be able to feel them inside the hose?

Thanks

shouldnt you be only getting 0.6kg/cm3 at stock settings?

neil_jdmr

Not sure matey?

Tried two different boost gauges and both showing a rock solid 0.8kg/cm on the primary and on the secondry before it drops off.

Hi rob,

0.5 is around 7psi as 0.6kg/cm is 8.5 and 0.8kg/cm is 11.3psi

Wanna change the check valves as been reading through robinette site today and it describes my exact symptoms as a passing check valve,

You dont have a spare check valve do ya:D

Changed the check valve under the pressure tank as the original wouldnt pass either way and gave my crv the once over and wahey i got 10psi to redline, chuffed to effin bits:rollin. Gonna change all others to viton now.

Getting around 12psi on first turbo and immediatly after crossover then dropping slightly to 10psi to buzzer.

Car now feels really smooth now and have blew £30 in fuel tonight as having so much fun.

Thanks for all your help.

and cheers rob :Thumbs-up
