Just wondering if anyone has used Yokohama Prada Spec 2 before, how they performed and how long did they last. Currently we have a very good deal on Toyo R888\'s but just wanted to compare the two for road usage.

They will be purely for the street as we have full slicks for track use.

Thanks

The Yoko is a great sticky tyre but IMO you couldn\'t compare the Prada 2 against the R888 as its not a their track day tyre. The R888 is however directly comparible to the A048R and A032R. Yoko\'s are a great tyre and would be my choice. The Prada 2 will disperce more water in the rain than the R888.

Both tyres are very similar priced so just wondering which to go for. The R888\'s would be cut for better water dispersion but this in turn, will make them heat up and wear out quicker. I know R888\'s provide excellent drip in the dry and wet ,if they have been cut, but would preffer them to last a little longer thus looking at the Yoko\'s

Well, I am glad to see some support  for Yokos, compared to the normal "Jap tyres are cr4p" sentiment which seems to prevail on here for some reason.

But toyo are japanese aswell.

I\'ve run both A048s (medium front, medium hard rear) and 888s on my track car and the 888s are better and cheaper.  Maybe i should have gone for soft A048s as the 888s only seem to come in soft. Either way, of the two above i\'d take 888s every day of the week.

As for rain...pray it doesn\'t. They are both awful. I now have a spare set of wheels (my \'road\' wheels) which have normal road tyres on (Eagle F1 asymemetric front (the new ones) and Eagle F1 GSD3 rear (they don\'t make new ones in right size yet)) and the car is really nice in the wet; by no means grippy but progressive and confidence inspring in a way that semi-slicks simply aren\'t.

I just don\'t want to drive the car at all with 888s on in the rain. Feels like an accident waiting to happen.
