Wow, you learn something new everyday, apparantly the RX7 was the first car to have a tilt/slide sunroof!!!!!

Anyway, think it would be a bit expensive to be honest lol, i think Dean\'s idea is better :)

Have you thought about buying a battery cut off switch for when your not using it?  I\'ve got a couple on my cars as I dont get to drive them as much lately.

Yeah - the smaller one would fit on the visor - but it wasn\'t enough to handle the drain from my satelite tracker (required for the insurance)

I\'ve got the bigger 12w one now - nice piece of kit, but it measures 98cm x 30cm - which is a wee bit bigger than the sun visor :D

The battery cut-off switch has the same issues as just disconnecting the battery - the immobiliser trips, and has to be reset.  plus, i don\'t want to leave the car without the alarm, given it\'s not in a garage.

i personaly think these things are crap had a customer of mine with a flat battery every two or three days without use turned out the solar charger had over cooked the battery and melted the side of the battery causing it to go flat very quickly

Why not have 2 sun visor ones and wire them both in.

Given the low total power of a panel (even one the size of mine), i can\'t see it cooking a battery that is in good condition!

Like i say - I\'ve already got the solar panel - I\'m just trying to work out where i can store it in the car without it getting in the way of something else.  I had planned on mounting it on the parcel shelf, but its just a little bit too wide :2Rolleyes
