Right, getting very annoyed with my car at the moment. Just had the clutch replaced and now I have a problem. With the car running if i press the clutch down it sticks at the floor and wont select a gear, if i turn the car off i can get it into gear but then when I start the car it drives itself even if the pedal is to the floor. i can manually pull the pedal up but then just sticks to the floor next time it\'s pressed.

After doing a bit of reading i\'ve narrowed it down to the master and/or slave cylinder or the pipe between the two. Does anyone have a pic of this pipe so i know what i\'m looking for? And if it is the cylinders are they easy to change and are they costly bits? Any help is most appreciated as i\'m getting fed up at the mo.

Right whinge over i\'m opening a nice Rioja and not stopping till i\'m plastered (about 2 glasses then!)

i have a couple of spare master cylinders if you need one (£15 inc p+p) they are easy to change

Bobbit

Might have to take you up on that tinker.
Forgot to mention that once the clutch had been replaced the bite point was at the floor and hasn\'t raised at all, clutch was changed about 3 weeks ago.

did you do the change?

I not then head back to the garage and slap them about.

It is quite possible that it could be the release bearing.

Jimjitsu

bleed it from the slave cylinder on the gear box its got air in it

Gotta be the SC. The piston might have popped out and fell into the bell housing, happened to me when rebuilding the engine. A new one is £75 from mazda and you have to wait 2 days for them to order it.

Turns out it is the pipe that has split, running along the firewall down behind the intake elbow. Does anyone know the sizes so i can get a replacement, dont want to take it off and go shopping with it as the pipe it\'s connected to was still dripping even after i\'d tried to plug it, now me oil filter looks like it\'s got the pox!

Are u talking about the clutch flexi hose (Clutch Slave hose)?  If it\'s that i just bought a braided stainless steel one from mazdatrix in the states, much better than the rubber one.

Is that the flexible pipe from bulkead to block?  If so then replace with a braided one - Shy, re:worx etc will be able to supply them.

Mine failed 3 eyars ago and it\'s bloody annoying - not to mention brake fluid squirted all over the bulkhead!

Yep thats the pipe, ordered one from MRC. So hopefully that will fix it.

Yup common fail point.  Mine had a braided one on when it arrived in the country so thought all would be well.

Unfortuantely my cluth pedal still sticks to the floor every now and again.  Lindop are investigating whilst the re-build is in progress!

Changed the hose for a braided one and now the pedal does not stick to the floor so that\'s a start. Tried bleeding the system but the pedal steel feels spongy, is it more likely that i\'m being a tool and not bleeding the system correctly?
Got one of the ezibleed systems but it\'s my first attempt at bleeding any hydralic system so i think i may have screwed it up. Can anyone give me tips on bleeding a system please?

Just make sure the pipe is connected tightly on the nipple and the other end is submerged in fluid going into a jar of clean fluid. Get someone to press the clutch pedal a few times untill no air is present in the fluid and as the pedal is being pressed, tighten the nipple before the pedal reaches the bottom of it\'s travel.
