my v5 doesnt state date of first reg other than 1995 no actual date

Swanny_UK

Timmy - agreed.  I contacted Mazda UK who\'s customer service department gave me the name of the homologation manager, and he should be able to contact Japan to find the official date of first use.  Ive written to him, so just waiting for a reply. :cool

RX7Veilside - oh if only I could, lol. :D My V5 just states \'95 too, but a search on the mottest.gov.uk website gives a specific date.  Bramble on FDUK isnt convinced that the date could be wrong but quite frankly who buys a car on new years eve? :3Confused

i think it is something they do as i blve mine was 31dec as well
there is no way anyone wld be buying a car at that time of year
best bet is to find a rex friendly mot station as its all a crock of **** anyway

Crackdown

I had exactly the same problem as Swanny (though it had a cat & airpump at the time) - first test centre was a complete nightmare and messed me about no end saying it was too high. I then took it to Rotechniks who were nothing short of amazing, sailed through apart from one problem that the first centre missed out!

Mine is also registered on the 31st December 1995, I have previous MOT certificates that show it just as "1995" and the later ones now show the date as NYE. I wonder if they just stuck that on when the new system came in place?

Considering I\'ve just had mine de-catted & new exhaust I need to figure all this out before the next test, drives me nuts (veilside, reckon your MOT centre will fudge my emissions too?). :p
