Now as i have driven the car for approx 600km\'s, i have allready noticed that the oem Mazda exhaust system kills the top end power totally! Eventho it seems it\'s some sort of Mazdaspeed system. There still is the cats installed. We don\'t need to get these cars emission tested EVER so i think i have some options here. My question is that after looking around at some webshops etc. I\'m not 100% that what parts are actually needed to build a system from the turbos to the rear bumper.

There is mid pipes, cat replacements, front pipoes etc etc. what is actually what? I know that catback comes right after the oem cats but i don\'t see a real benefit on these systems as the cats are most likely the reason for the power loss.

is there some components that i have to remove when fitting an aftermarket system? was there some valve in the exhaust?

A turbo back system consits of down/front pipe to mid pipe to back box. No valves in the system i think but there a cat heat sensor that can be removed but you need to bridge the connector if u have pfc so the knock sensor can flash the heat light. Also the air pump for the emissions control normaly can be disconected.
