Will RX8 engine fit RX7

Hi

Just recieved my RX7 type R from japan and was seeing how it compared to my last car on the 1/4 mile and she gave up half way ok now I realise the storys r true f**k!!!!! Anyway I was offered an RX8 engine and 6 speed box is this a straight exchange or is there some mods required

G11ary has an RX-8 engine in his car, don\'t think he has an RX-8 gearbox though. Carl did the engine - I believe it is a 4port? not 6port.

Bit of fiddling but it can be done.

Will you turbo it?  just to note the rotors are higher compression - not the best for big boost unless you know what you are doing

The engines not in yet, still playing with the old engine, but yes the engine will go in, but will need a small amount of modification and obviously custom manifolds etc. If you want a turbo, then would suggest 4 port not 6 port, dont ask why, its what Ive been told by the guys un the know. Did explian it once, but to thick to remember. Gear box is not a straight swap and if I remember correctly would need modifying and would probably sit back approx 10cm, which would also mean shortening the prop.
