Hello all, seeking opinions or knowledge/experience here...

Just wondering and doing a bit of a comparison - The Greddy T78, and the Garett GT4088... would anyone be able to advise either way on which may have pro\'s over the other one(and cons?)?

I understand the T78 is slightly larger than the GT4088... but that\'s all i\'ve ever hear about comparing the two so any info and opinions would be great!!

Cheers!!

well i know it would be esier to rebuild a gt40 than it would a t78.

Best bet is to do a search for previous discussions on each of these turbos.

Also a good source of info in the single turbo and A-spec Topics on //www.rx7club.com

i have a t78 on my fd m8 and i think its a very good turbo, not too laggy for its size and you can get quite a bit of serious power out of it...boosts full chat at around 4500k, but its still not too dead before that either :D

Interesting point actually, how comes? That\'s useful to know! (i\'ve got T78 on the rex that i\'ll be collecting in a weeks time, fortunately only done a few hundred miles so its still brand new!) My mate is also looking to but a single turbo\'ed rex and were wondering how to two turbo\'s compare.

Also, shaunwil good point on that one, rx7club has some good coverage - what wit the performance car scene being so much more alive than it is in the UK (that sucks :reallymad )

good comments so far! cheers!

Half of it is the price of petrol that kills it over here. Plus the yanks seem to get their hands more dirty !

What size footprint is the turbo ? Would have add A-spec 500R to the list, slightly smaller that the 4088 but is supposed to spool very quick. It has a T4 footprint.

I would have thought the T78 is an older turbo so possibly the bits are harder to come by.
