Can you get sat nav fitted after you get the car?

Hi all,

This is my first post on this forum so please be gentle
I am very seriously thinking of getting an RX8 but I have a question about them.  If I buy the RX8 from a dealer that has one in stock can I ask for any of the extras?  i.e. if the car has the leather pack will the dealer be able to fit with Satellite Navigation or can you only have it done at the factory when its being made?

Any info would be great.

Chances are it would have to come from the factory, dalers wont start pulling them apart to alter once in the country. My brother ordered his and 2 months later asked for sat nav and was told it would delay his car as they would have to reorder spec at factory

I\'m pretty new to all of this as well.

My 8 was about 6 weeks old when I bought it, and it had the leather seats fitted and no factory Sat Nav.

I asked the sales guy about this and I would suggest that Gary is correct. However, thats if you want the soopa doopa factory fit.

The sales guy told me that it is possible to have an after market Sat Nav fitted but obviously it\'s not the same as a Factory job.

My car was a cancelled order.  I guess I was lucky, it was exactly the colour, leather pack etc that I wanted.  I also had a few extras put on plus a few the dealer threw in.  When I asked about Sat Nav dealer said it was only ever fitted at the factory.  If you\'ve got your head screwed on right you won\'t need it anyway, seemed me to be very expensive as well.  I\'m glad I didn\'t waste my money.

Yes there are some very good after market sat nav\'s. I have one in my RX7. Dont by the Alpine version, not as good as others out there.
