Kevin

I\'ve got a couple of more questions im hoping someone will be able to answer.  One\'s reasonable and the other seems stupid (or it might just be me).

Reasonable:

Im currently running the engine in, it\'s got about 300 miles on it and seems to be fine, apart from if i\'ve been out for a drive then turn off the engine to say open the garage door or move a few cars out the way, when I restart the engine within a few minutes the revs keep dropping from about 800 to about 400, then back up to 800 then drop to 400.... It only does this a few times then it seems to be fine??...  Any ideas? :xconfused

Stupid:

How the f***in hell do you get the back windscreen wiper to work?...  I\'ve moved the wiper stalk in every sodding direction, checked all the fuses, there fine, but nothing.  My agent in Japan told me the rear wiper wasnt working when I bought it, but in all honesty it seems like someone has replaced the rear hatch at some point with one with a wiper as I cant see any reference to rear wiper anywhere in the ****pit? :Hammer

Hi Kevin

The idling system, I think, is trying to find the optimal idle setting, I am not sure it is necessarily a problem.

The wiper stalk has a little bit at the end that you twist. This should operate the rear wiper.

does the car a stock ecu.      Apexi PFC\'s will go up and down a few times until properly mapped.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

It does sound like a unmapped PFC issue, but 400 - 800 sounds a bit low?

the base idle (warm) of my PFC when unmapped was 750, and used to go between 1500 and 750... surely this would be similar on others?

nikp

My unmapped power FC kept a nice smooth idle.

Sounds like he\'s describing the idle to be hunting (In which case there\'s likely to be an air leak)

Kevin

Cheers for the reply\'s.  The car has an unmapped PowerFC on it, which I did think might be the cause.  I didnt really think it was hunting as it only does it a couple of times when the car is started when hot.

Another question:

Im still abit unsure about the clutch, I have done 500 km on it now and it still judders, but now when I start the car from cold and reverse it out my garage it really sounds like it\'s wearing and you can smell burning clutch.  Same happens when you try to do a hill start or similar.

I\'ve been told that it needs about 1000 miles to bed in, but im still abit dubious as i\'ve fitted uprated clutches in some of my other cars and never they\'ve never been like this.
