MintyFresh

are the earlier RX7\'s starting to fall apart?  i.e is the suspension on its way out?  door seals etc...

Thanks

Minty.

depends on how well its looked after ... mines fine and its coming up for 19 years old, but in general you can\'t expect an older car to be in the same condition as one thats significantly newer.

im mainly talking about the third generations of RX7\'s

Then no, not really. Mine\'s a \'92, and it\'s in beautiful condition. The interior (especially the plastic) was never very well made, and it\'s starting to show... but only a little. Everything else seems like the car just rolled out of the factory. I guess it really depends how well they\'ve been looked after, but as long as they haven\'t been treated badly, they certainly shouldn\'t be falling apart for a long time. :)

Thats true.  Mine is very good.  The thing is, the amount of complete shitter 3rd gens I had to look at when finding a good one was a surprise.

I blame it on people just trying to make a quick buck.  I remember seeing one at an importers (now defunct) which was appaling.  I phoned them about it and drove a fair way to see it, and it wasnt even running.  Seeing as Id made the effort I looked at it anyway and it was a joke.  I tried being nice and said I didnt think it was worth the asking price (8k or so) so wasnt interested but they didnt get the hint and asked me what Id pay.  "Nothing, its the worse RX7 ive ever seen!"

Interior parts are silly money to replace too, so dont think its simple.  just to get new ones.
