Sorry if this has been mentioned before though I can\'t seem to find this information in many places. I am currently saving for a RX 7 though I would like to know if it’s worth paying extra and looking so much harder for a UK version which the 2 I have managed to come across have both been on eBay, The thing I was wondering is both on the clock have done 100,000 miles on the clock that I have seen that have been UK units. Even with proven rebuilds, I still thought this was a lot. Despite the fact I am aware if a rebuild is done correctly it’s like a fresh whole new engine. Main point I’m getting to is first off is it worth buying a UK RX7 as I am only 21 so need to keep insurance down, Due to this was going to wait till just after I was 22 for my 4 years NCB which is about 6 or 7 months. As I read on eBay, which I know not best source of information one of the guys was selling his RX 7 from this owners club so he said "There were only ever 124 UK cars ever sold" Heres Link I found that hard to believe though I am finding it rather hard to come across UK RX\'s when just browsing in spare time. Also if I choose a Import how hard are they to source the bits if needed, lol this is the point you guys will properly tell me depends what bits go though if we talk as on general. Also are the cars them self any different except speedometers and the general import stuff, such as some restricted. I’ve loved FD3’s a long time but I have to be honest there is so much I need to learn before I invest my hard earn pennies into one. Would be grateful for all the help I could get if it involves me making the right choice at the end of the day. Also do many of you know if the insurance really hammers you if you do choose an import, I’ve only done a few quotes and I have not seen much of a difference between UK to Import though I have only compared on www.comparethemarket.com and www.autotrader.com though I am positive that there are better quotes then £2000 pounds fully comp.

Sorry for the long post :)

Welcome
A lot of these cars are 15 years old so 100,000 over 15 years is about right you will find some with less, but it depends if it has had a rebuilt engine most will of had, proof of a rebuilt engine is a must.
Buying a UK model may be cheaper to insure, yes only 124 were sold in this country.
Most spares are quite easy to source; some trim items not so easy but are available.
UK models are slightly lower on power.
Insurance for imports are higher, but you may be able to get classic cover, which is a lot cheaper.
You will find almost all the answers that you have about the RX7 on this club from doing searches and other members.
Lead me not into temptation, I can find it myself...
But i can always do with some help now due to, my advancing years!

Thanks for the information also notice you are from east sussex, at least some one is local :) which rotory specialist do you have to deal with if you need to service the car, if you dont mind me asking.

I\'m not shore if you\'ll be interested, but I fancy a change of car at the minute. I\'ve got a late uk car. It\'s got 70000 miles on the clock and I think (from memory) around 7000 miles since it had a full Rotechnics rebuild. If you want anymore info send me a mail at tom(at)perryshome.plus.com.
