Am about to buy a new set of rubber for the car, I have tried out RE88\'s but found them to be ****ing awful in the wet.  Anyone recommend a decent road tyre?  Bearing in mind that at 205/60/15 the Egi tyres are an odd(ish) size.

Cheers

Hi Brett
Thanks for your welcome message on the 2nd gen forum.
I guess you never got answer to this...having owned an EGI for so long oddly I am out of touch on what are the best tyres.  Any thoughts on the matter as it will soon be time to replace mine.

Brett

In the end I went for BFGoodrich profiler sport or something - was a very good tyre, used it on my Egi and again on my Twin turbo soarer. :yes

Not expensive either - good buy IMO

Goodyear GSD3\'s Eagle F1, are the best i have found for fast road and the occassional bit of track
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

I had eagle f1s on my fd, but when i went to change them i heard some not as good reviews about the new design. I have now got vredestein ultracs. These seem to have come first or second in all recent performance tests, and seem particualrily good in the wet. From the airfield days i have done that i have done since ffitting them, i would say that the grip is pretty similar to the f1s, just with slightly bigger tread. not a bad price either.

Toyo T1R\'s only make 205x55x15
good reports on FD\'s especially in wet.

Had good experience with Eagles (but 17") and Toyo T1R\'s (16") on Eileen\'s car - both very grippy wet and dry.
