I\'m thinking of selling my car in its curent state, as I could do with the cash asap. Or maybe a swap for another car??

Can anyone tell me what shes worth please?

I\'ll start with the spec of the car, but please note the \'problem\' with it at the bottom.

The car:

1993 Mazda RX7 Type R (2 I think), Twin Turbo, Import

ex RE-AMEMIYA show/demo car

 - 1993/K reg, RX7 Type R2 model, lighter than most models.

- Imported 2003.

- HPi clear, with certificate.

EXTERIOR

- Re-Amemiya front bumper with centre meshed and IPF lower spotlights

- Re-Amemiya sideskirts with vents meshed

- Rear bumper with Re-Amemiya lower spats

- Re-Amemiya Fibreglass vented bonnet, very rare!

- Re-Amemiya VERY RARE dual headlights

- Repainted in stunning Candy cherry red this looks anything from red to copper to orange, depending on light. (spotless). Done 18 months ago, also coated in 5 yr guarantee supaguard wax protector!

(slight marks on rear bumper, and one or two on bonnet, not that bad)

-De-spoilered boot. Looks stunning and smooth!

- Carbon Covered door handles

- Wheels are 17" Wolfrace Asia Tec Katanas (as new) ET 40, 7J width, wrapped in very good Goodyear Eagle F1\'s with 7mm spacers on rear

SUSPENSION / BRAKES

- Suspension is Genuine Bilstein shocks and springs, even these are Re-Amemiya stamped!! Lowered approx 50mm

- Brakes are standard Mazda with Japanese performance pads all round. All very good condition.

INTERIOR

- Suede front seats

- Leather rear bucket seats

- Interior painted body colour

- Sports steering wheel

- Momo gearknob

- Alluminium pedals

- Push button start

- Fire extinguisher

- Re Amemiya boost gauge

- Blitz turbo timer

-3 pillar pod with water temp/oil temp/oil pressure gauges these can be set at I think 7 dif colours

- Sony CD head unit with JBL speakers all round

- Full set of RX7 branded car mats

ENGINE

- It has had an engine from a newer RX7 fitted with 33,000km\'s

- Reconditioned Turbos under 5k ago with receipt

- Engine has upgraded large capacity intercooler by Re-Amemiya

- Induction kit by Re-Amemiya

- Full stainless exhaust "dolphin tailed" by Re-Amemiya, sounds gorgeous!

- Front strut brace

- Dump Valve

TRANSMISSION

- Standard FD3S gearbox

- Balanced and lightened flywheel

- Re-Amemiya short shifter

Now, heres its downfall, as you can notice from a thread on here, she needs a rebuild to a certain degree (unfortunately!)
seems one of the Apex seals has gone
.

Then she neds tax and mot. But will def fly through MOT,as i\'ve done MOT check to best I can, and only thing it needed was R/H front indicator bulb!!

What do we think shes worth then ??

Its always a hard one to say, as its your pride and joy. But a rebuild is min £2k and with the present slump in car sales Id guess at around £2.5k for car as is

Paul1982

Does the car feel like it needs a rebuild as its lost compression?

Alex T

rear chamber is down on compression a bit yes.

Alex T

I\'ve sat down and worked out that if I broke it, I could make £4k though. Although this would take longer, and would be a shame to break!

Paul1982

I think you could split the car for atleast £3k - so the car if the engine is OK then is worth min of £3k - there are some rare parts on the car.

Alex T

yes, as post above, even minimum prices would get a bit for it.

FLAT4MATT

Yeah there\'s some nice stuff on there for sure, I\'d be interested in the lights / skirts and would\'ve had the bonnet / bumper too but I\'ve just paid for some! The exhaust and suspension is probably worth a few £ then there\'s all the standard stuff body panels, electrics and interior panels, should get a fair bit for the engine even if it need a rebuild. I\'m sure you\'d have no problem breaking it but like you say it\'s always a shame to see an FD breaking... :(

The alternative is to keep it and plonk a 2nd hand motor in it or take the plunge and rebuild it. Depends whether you want to keep the car really :)

It\'s a nice looking motor, real shame to break it...

Shame to break but if the front head lights are genuin then id be interested.

you have a very nice car there i was in a similar position where i had a rebuild done on my car that turned out to be a waste of time and money and was totally dissillusioned with the whole rx7 scene and supposed experts
then i met carl hayward who bent over backwards to help me and get my car back on the road and was so genuine in all our dealings
give him a ring and see what he suggests before taking any drastic moves like letting it go for a song or trying vainly for months to sell it and then in desparation again letting it go for peanuts

Cheers for kind words guys! I\'l be back on the road soon hopefully!

Steve, I\'ve sold the headlights, as they needed bit of work to get them up to scratch again. Yes, they were genuine.

SCOOMER

I breifly knew the guy who used to own this car and he had the engine replaced with a second hand one which he bought for £600.

Mite be worth doing that yourself then selling on.......
