What should I do?
Obviously an engine out of the car,is far easier to work on that one in the car!

So I\'m wondering what things I should do to it?
ie:mods that cost little or nothing. So no major turbo conversions etc..
Am I right in thinking, the rats nest, non sequential turbo conversion, is something I can possibly attempt myself?

Will also give a few things a good clean, and powdercoat some things too.

Cheers for your help guys!

yeah its easy mate if you wanna go that route, depends on what engine your going for, if its just street ported or standard then stick with the sequential setup as the spooling will be quicker, but if your planning to in the future go single you might as well do it now, its nothing major just a few parts cut here there and blocking up holes. You can even modify your loom like i did so there is nothing there lol! but you will need pfc to rid all your solinoids etc. otherwise it will show an engine light and over fuel.

I see.. Sequential for the moment it is then! Cheers matey!

it would help as well if your not familar with the car that the engine you get has all the rats nest and wiring still on the engine as a complete unit, makes life easier that way, just a matter of plugging the rest of your harness, piping and fuel lines then.
