After the end of last year I broke my power plant frame in several places.
So I set about the task of repairing it.
I welded it all up and put some extra strips of steel in to strengthen so that it would not brake again. Or so I thought
The other night I was practicing my launches for the quarter mile (japshow) when I heard an almighty as I went from second to third.
I knew strait away that I had broke my power plant frame again, the next day I took a look under my car and found that the back section of the pp frame had cracked again.
I can’t keep welding my pp frame up so I decide to make a diff brace.
I have seen this diff brace on the net for a while now and I thought I might have a go at making one.

I went down to my local steel stockist and bought a length of 12cm wide by 1cm thick steel flat bar.
With an afternoon off work, a bit of measuring, drilling, cutting, and welding I had made my own diff brace.
Take a look

i would deffinately suggest engine and diff mount change to perhaps poly or solid to restrict movement. dead mounts may be the cause to an extent.
fduk.

I am already using polly engine mounts. My diff mounts are ok, I checked them earlier today.

yep
Around 450 bhp and I will be pushing the boost up even more on the drag strip at the japshow.

Have you just made a T-shape?

I can\'t belive that you\'ve managed to bend 1cm thick metal, the way the KG parts brace is made that you\'ve pictured above is that it has a bend on it so once you\'ve got it on which is a pain in itself its actually acting like a spring because of the bend its sprung against the bottom of the diff.

Not 100 convinced that yours will be as affective, good work though mate love it when people do things themselfs.
