is anyone on here using them ? just curious. i removed my rear hatch glass the other day and my god was it heavy!
anyone using composite panels such as doors and hatch.
is any difference notable in terms of performance ? id imagine the glass weighs a lot.

pain in the arse on a road car, you can\'t use a wiper on it and best clean all the dust of before you try cleaning them or you will end up with frosted plastic in short order.  In a door you will find that if you try to make it wind down like glass it will scratch and scuff on the seals in the door and it\'s not as rigid as the glass so the fit is a problem and it will flex etc. when it\'s wound halfway down.

Great for loosing weight but not overly practical

Have a look at my car....all plastic windows bar front!
Composite doors, boot, wings etc

300kg saving!

rx jamie

so what does your car weigh now then  ?  900kgs ?

AtomicRex

No not quite!!

1034kg....on current wheels with me, race suit and helmet, and 25L of fuel

nice one mate. worth the expense then :driving   must get my moulds sorted for my car. but im well lazy lol

AtomicRex

why not just use the ones that we have for sale?

MikeLMR

probably because the full set costs more than most peoples cars are worth ?

And carbon fibre doors aren\'t exactly safe for road use unless you have a cage with good side impact protection.

AtomicRex

Ive always maintained that the Carbon doors aren\'t for road use, unless you have additional side protection via a cage.

However it isn\'t mandatory to use the Carbon Fibre stuff with the plexi glass.  They are a direct replacement for the standard glass.

Gary is selling them on his site....quite reasonable too!
