I purchased car from joel kelly aug 04 with rebuilt engine by reworx running single turbo gt35/40 uprated pump/injectors/fpr/exhaust/apexi pfc and commander/fmic etc all fully mapped by reworx

over following months adder pwr rad/ap racing brakes/water injection/charge cooler/feed and apexi exhaust/clutch all fully mapped for each mod

first engine goes pop lost 2 tips inconclusive cause poss split pipe to fpr

engine rebuilt with 2 new tips
no boost on new engine i found split pipe from boost controller to wastegate should never have been re-installed and exhaust blowing at downpipe/turbo connection

had bad warm starting from the start and despite me telling re-worx this no compression test done they changed the plugs
charge cooler installed and ended up with off boost intake temps no better than a smic and a mish mash of 2nd hand hosing and apprentice style welded pipework

water injection pump fitted in my storage bins and upon inspection one day found a large puddle of water where the threaded connection to the pump wasnt done up so water spraying into the bin not the engine and the pipe feed from the tank to the pump with a large kink slowing flow even more

clutch was fitted and after leaving re-worx my idle was playing up and due new clutch i stayed off boost all way home
on arrvl i noticed that pipe from wastegate to manifold was sitting loose at the back of the plenum.so i rang and was told by chris to just fit it to any vac source and that it must have blown off on the journey home despite me not using any boost all way home..found a vac source (that was only one way unknown to me)attatched it and boosted to 1.5bar due the loss of wastegate control.

decided to go for v mount from carl hayward
and after fitting carl called to say the car just didnt feel right and he would check the leads and he asked how old the engine was
i explained it had only about 500 miles since a rebuild by re-worx
carl called me back and was almost embarassed by the compression result
about 6.5 on front and about 4.5 on the rear(hence the bad starting)
i called re worx and geff said they would want to do their own compression test but i had decided i no longer wanted them working on my car and decided to use carl who has been imensly supportive of me in getting the car as i wanted it all allong

while engine was being built at re worx  i supplied a innovate wideband kit for fitting and was told kit wont work its faulty/supplier was great and checked kit and confirmed def all ok.I a novice spoke to both chris and geff and told them to make sure the isolater jack was installed or the wideband would not work
was told yes we have fitted it all its the kit at fault and we cant aford to waste anymore time on it
When i pick car up i say wheres the isolator jack(blank looks all around)despite me checking contents before delivering the kit(no refund offered)and after they said they had fitted one before

I am after no renumeration at all as am happy for carl hayward to take care of all my rotary needs but have had a festering anger since the2nd rebuild and its disasterous starting witnessed by gary from rotary art when my car nearly didnt start when i went to pick up a bonnet 100 miles from home

not all my experiences were bad as geff worked tirelessly in sorting me out a brake upgrade but when i spend my hard earned cash i expect quality and my engine rebuild fell far short of that ad not what i would expect from an experienced engine builder

since my car has been at carl hayward the quality has been second to none and i will be posting about its latest upgrades very soon

i am not seeking nor have asked at any time for money to be returned by re-worx but i have had discussions with others re my experiences and have found mine not to be an islated case

to me the whole point of a club/forum is to praise good work when it is done but also to highlight shoddy work as well

Re worx need to work on the customer care aspect and quality control as far as i am concerned

and a massive thanks to carl hayward for being very supportive during what has been a stressfull period of ownership
allways ready to talk and help at every stage

Quoteengine rebuilt with 2 new tips

Seeingthat tips are prone to failure,  if a engine was being rebuilt,  why not change all the tips,  I have no idea what they cost btw

Just my opinion

because engine had all new tips only about 1500 -2000 miles earlier from the 1st rebuild and was told all were fine except the broken 2..this car had only covered about 2000 miles and in that time had needed 2 rebuilds

Carl is a good chap, he will take care of you and your car.  Ive never taken my car anywhere else and its only been to Carls once (i do my own work on my car) but to be honest, quite a few other tuners simply worried me when i phoned them up.  I once asked reworx if they could supply me with a new Oil metering pump line as mine has snapped - they told me to just put a bit of silicon tube over the break. Oil melts silicon.

not sure about ur comments oldone
but if u had worked like a dog and spent ur hard earned cash only to receive the aformentioned items i have mentioned u might be a bit miffed
and my aim was to make sure that the less experienced people on here might just save themselves a lot of grief and some money as well
and re worx is not a vendor maybe ur dodgy eyes missed the fact they arent a vendor on here anymore
and u must have too much time on ur hands as well to bother reading and replying to a post that u have no interest in
would u rather people used a vendor that supplies good service or one that doesnt surely sharing ur experinces and helping others is what a club is all about or do u do all ur own work on your car and as such dont give a toss about the people who dont have the time or the energy and knowledge
