I should have known better than to use Halfrauds but last Saturday I went in to get a rear number plate having lost mine. After 20 mins in there trying to explain that it was import sized they eventually found it on the computer and took all my details down as they said they\'d have to order it.

Over a week later and several phone calls I find out now that it hasnt even been ordered because they havent taken my registration down !!!! So I tell the guy on the phone "I watched your collegue write my reg number down", to which he says well sorry we need to re-order it, and it might take another week !!!

Needless to say my calm manner deserted me and he got a fu**ing mouthful !!! :2Mad

Anyone know where I can get a proper sized rear plate from ?????

I\'ve used these guys several times, I\'m pretty sure that they can accomodate more or less any plate size:

Mind you, it took about a week when I last used their service but it is/used to be a lot less hassle than your local Hellfrauds.

ebay do them, the more experienced sellers have a smart piece of software that allows you to design your own and they send it to you next day.  I used one but i cant remember which one.

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

IIRC doesn\'t motorbike size plates fit imports perfectly? So even Halfrauds should have them in stock?

I always use MAL plates, they never ask questions, and give you exactly what you want!

Wrong! This is most definately Halfords fault :Hammer That bloke represents Halfords as he is hired and paid by them! I\'m so sick of people not taking ownership of the work they do. I\'ve spent hours on the phone to Pipex (fduking nightmare) whilst moving house. After speaking to SIX different people, each one saying they had sorted my internet and it would be ready in 5 working days and then nobody knowing anything about them when I phoned back 5 days later each time(!!) The dumb arse bitch on the phone says \'don\'t have a go at me, I\'m just the messenger\'.
Eeeerm sorry , sensitive area :cheers :Grrr :cool

Its a shame that Dave, Pipex have been faultless for me over the last 3 years, and I have 2 friends that work in Halfords and there knowledge is spot on.
Im as much to blame as most others, in as much that we should always take the full name of the operator that handles the call, then we have some sort of redress, but like me, I guess you dont think the worst will happen.

Bulla

Thats exactly it, I ve got to take some of the blame as I didnt get the guys names (3 different people !) and as such I cant really complain properly as they will just pass the buck.

Thanks for all the suggestions above I\'m gonna order one today !!!

:-) I got on my soap box then didn\'t I? I was sick of being stuck on 0845 numbers to them and not getting any joy. I\'ve actually never had a problem with Halfords by the way, my local one has a guy from the 200sx owners club working there who is very helpful.
The Pipex stuff is a mare! Both times we\'ve moved they have been awful. The service isn\'t too bad but it does have its share of outages. I\'ve got a list of names of six of the people I dealt with (there were several people before whos names I didn\'t take!) and the times and dates and will probably write a complaining letter if I get round to it, worth a few free months for the hassle they gave me. The amusing thing was that the last person I dealt with was a recently promoted manager (I\'d asked to speak to a manager) who was also the third person I dealt with before her promotion so she got a mouth full from here and the service miraculously appeared a few days later! To top things off they also charged me £140. They do a thing where they cancel the old contract and you have to open a brand new 12mths contract with them when you move house. The new contract should cancel the charge from the old one but predictably it didn\'t and made me go overdrawn in the month when I\'ve had to pay out thousands to move house. :-) I got the bank to reclaim it as it was a direct debit. Isn\'t live jolly fine!
Alls good though. I\'m online, the new flat is nice, the gardens are stunning, and there\'s a garage for the rex. Happy days.
