I got the drivers door card off without any probs but the passenger side seems a little more tricky.

Can\'t find any more screws/clips to undo but it still seems to be held tight around the window up/down switch.

Don\'t want to exert to much leverage until I\'m sure there\'s nothing else holding it.

There must be loads of ppl taken them off so I\'d thought I\'d ask b4 I break it.

Also, I want to take the steering wheel off and as it has an airbag above where the nut must be. Whats the proceedure for getting to the nut and removing the wheel without getting a face full of bag.

3rd gen .98 btw

...it\'s well hidden!

..right had a look!! It\'s torrential rain here :(

Theres a screw right behind the window switch. I think you have to take the switch out, then remove the black plastic trim around, the section that you\'d pull the door closed with...i think!

As i\'ve said i just pulled mine then relised the extra screw. Can\'t see the damage though as the black trim covers the screw hole!!

Hope this helps

I did my door cards the other day.  To remove them, pop out the controls for the window and electronic windows.  They are both held in by metal clips.  The controls are wired in by plugs in the back with a little push button to release the plug.

Once the controls are off, there are three screws around the outer side of the door and one under a little cover that you\'ll need to clip off beside the main door release handle beside the driverside pocket.  IIRC for the others there is one on the part on the right handside of the door, one on the bottom and one on the left hand side.

Once you\'ve removed the screws, unclip the upper plastic door covers beside the window on either side.  These are held on by little metal clips.  These will carefully pull off.

Finally, LIFT the door card off.  There are two plastic plugs on the top of the door that will clip off with care.

:(  Still having problems with the passenger side - just cant see whats stopping it coming free. It\'s clear all round the edges just seems stuck behind the door pull hanadle.

Taken out the window control switch cant see anything.

Getting fed up now - must be my age.

Any tips on removing the steering wheel, I\'m concerned about the inbuilt airbag.

Where was it I am having the same problem?!

If you pop out the electric window switch, the screw is directly behind it!! It\'s black headed philips screw & you will have to look up in to the switch hole to see it!!

Thanks, I will look in the morning.

The final screw is hidden behind a small black cover in the middle of the door card, flip that open and the screw is sat on a kind of bracket, pm me if you are having problems and I will post some pics....

From what I\'ve read you should remove battery neg terminal then keep the brake pedal pressed for about 30 sec to discharge the airbag. Then take plastic panels on steering wheel off, unbolt air bag from the back, disconnect electrical connectors, remove nut most of the way, and PULL HARD.

Let me know if this works as mines coming off soon:Thumbs-up
