Hi. I have seen on another thread that someone was booked into a track day and then found out that they may be too loud. I think the limit is 98db.
How loud is 98db?
If I book myself in to a track day at Donnington, I understand that if I\'m too loud I could be asked to leave! I don\'t want that as it\'s a lot of money (to me) to go to a track day.
So, what can I do? How do I find out if my Turbo II is too loud?

Cheers,
Matt

PS, it is not a factory exhaust on my RX7, it has no cat and only one silencer on each tail pipe. So even though it is not super loud, it is not quiet!

DB meter is the only way, but if you are running a straight through system then it will be too loud. :(

Darn!
Where do I find someone with a DB meter?
I guess MOT places don\'t have one, they just use their own judgment?

I\'ve just had an e-mail back from Donnington saying that even with a standard exhaust my car would be on the limit!
So this means I need to book in for a track day that is a noisy (loud) track day. I don\'t think Donnington have any in the near future (can\'t see any on their list) does anyone else know where I could go for a noisy track day? (near to Derbyshire)
Or would I be better to go through a club of some sort?
Cheers,
Matt

Silverstone is the only track I go to that seems relaxed about noise although there is officially a 105 db limit ........ every track day I have done there ther are cars louder than that. Evening sessions there do have a limit that is lower and they enforce it.

As you say there are unsilenced days at Donnington .... I would bother with the others ......... a stock exhaust would probably be ok but they are tough there ....... black flag amd you are off ..... no negotiation.

Snetterton has a limit but they seem pretty relaxed.

Goodwood are totally unrelaxed. They do have  a few louder days but the numbers are restricted which makes it rather unexciting out on circuit and they are expensive.

Brands hatch have tightened up ..... I am a border line there .... I think 105.

Castle Coombe strict.

Rockingham days vary I think but they seem fairly relaxed.

Don\'t know about Cadwell and Oulton.

Bedford have low limits and I think are strict.

Incidentally I am doing a Driving day at Bedford at the end of this month ........ courtesy of a client ........ I think it is like Clio, Porsche, Ferrari and a Palmer Audi single seater ........ looks like a really good day .... can\'t wait.
