Something else to think about, when deciding who is going to do your rebuild, also consider what additional mods you want done, and mapping if any.
If an engine builder makes you an engine I doubt he will warentee it if some else later works on it or maps it.
Once again today I have spoken to a customer, with an almost new engine, blown up during mapping. Who will foot the rebuild the engine builder or the mapper. My money is on the owner.
It\'s a very difficult subject and if I was the engine builder I would think long and hard about someone else tuning my engine. So check your warentee for what you get, easy for one guy I know saying he warentees detonation, another thing maybe getting it warenteed.

^^  True.  When I was at WGT on the weekend, Gatesey had to sign a disclaimer before his car was mapped - but because mine was built by them, I didn’t.

It might be a small detail, but it definitely gave me peace of mind when it was being done.

Another very big thing to consider is what actually constitutes a rebuilt engine? You can take apart an engine and replace few parts and it is still technically a rebuilt engine. Also you canb replace absolutely everything and it is still a rebuilt engine.
Without knowing exactly what is replaced the price is irrelevant. So it is alittle nieve to just consider the price.
Also dont just think about the block being built, consider fuel lines, vac hoses, service items etc.
