Hi All,
i changed the springs on mine at the weekend hoping it would resolve a strange clanging noise i have always had with the car, the springs that were on it had been cut so the top did\'nt sit flush, i persumed this noise was the top mounts hitting the top of the tunnel.
the car handles loads better (no more rolling on the springs) but the noise is still there, all the bushes have been replaced the only thing i can think it could be are the shocks but they look new too
can they move around inside the strut if not fitted correctly?
could it be the top nut is not tight enough?

the noise only happens at low speeds over any kind of bump

thanks in advance
Mark

Yip ! Its a shock thing...........check all the top mounts and lower if all is tight.Checke that the inside of the shocks are not rubbing or banging the outer case. i.e broken shock. They may look good on the outside but...........:Typing

also how do you change the whole shock insert? sorry guys never done one!

these are from my spares!

Don Pamponi

I had the same banging problem (!)

It was the shock inserts.  I think they squirt all their oil out & get noisy.
I had Tim fit a set of Koni\'s & It never came back
Now with added boost!  :burnout
