Just musing again... To simplify that engine bay!

Evening all...

Just having a think, as I get the car ready for some trackdays the engine bay is a complete nightmare to work in!

So, singles seem soo much cleaner... However really I\'m happy with the power, and Id rather spend the money on suspension, light wheels and proper rubber ;) But to keep the same power, surely a pretty small single could do the job job with virtually minimal lag? Could you not get this off another car cheaply?

Also loose the airpump ;)

What else could go easily?

Oh, and while I\'m asking questions, on a boost gauge, the rattle? Is that the wategate opening and closing? I\'m still quite new to the in\'s and outs of turbo cars ;)

Relocate the battery to the boot.

For track days FMIC would clean the engine bay and there would be enugh air flow on track to not effect the rad.

Go none sequential <----spelling ?

Remove power steering if its for track, so much nicer with ps for street (just my opinion).

Well, it would be 100% pure track otherwise I\'d go the whole hog!

But thinking about battery relocation... But one of the tips from the race series that\'s pretty cool. Get one of the halfrauds jump packs. Pull all the plastic casing off and you end up with a gel type battery with 2 extra cigar lighter sockets, it\'s pretty flat and can be mounted quite easilt. Also has loads of power to crank the engine and run everything... I\'ll try and find what model they used specifically ;)

I need a bigger rad anyway, as I hear the stock on isn\'t up to the job sadly... So if you put everything straight up that would help to right?

And I take it non-seq removes a lot of the plumbing?

Rattley boost gauge could be one of 2 things so I\'m lead to believe:
1. Nakerd / worn gauge
2. tips on the way out

D1 WTF

i believe if you go non sequential turbos, so they both work at the same time etc, more like a single charactersistics then you can get rid of all the rats nest like you would if you had gone single.
IF YOU DIDN\'T CARE YOU WOULDN\'T BE LOOKING

You also gain more power apparently but spool slower and higher up the rev range, more like a single, but if its track then you would be in the higher rev range anyway so no probs there, not as nice for street though as you sacrifice some low rev boost.

Cool, non-seq may be the way to go ultimately then... Is the cheap version OK or is it really worth doing the full turbo\'s off and bits welded together?

I wouldn\'t be too worried about loosing lower revs power, I\'m used to NA\'s where you have to rag the nuts off of it just to get moving ;) So the torque is a nice change :D

Oh... That\'s a bummer... Well, it\'s starts well, starts best when it\'s warm! Hopefully just the gauge tho\'!!!

EPAS - Bin the power steering pump, make the engine rev much more freely and clean up the bay a little... not cheap at around £2000 installed but a cool mod.

Wiring Tuck - as seen on Ross\'s Red/Pink Street Demo Car - Notice the lack of wiring makes the engine bay look much tidier.

Removal of excessive wiring harness plugs (left when you remove EPAS, Air Pump, Etc Etc.)
