Thought i would vent my beef with them - they wouldnt insure me as im less than 30 years old. This aint fair - you older members get to enjoy mega cheap insurance and great cover using your MRC discount as well.

When I spoke to Adam - He tried to fob me off by telling me that most companys wont insure people less than 30? direct line quoted me - elephant insured me - adrian flux will quote me there are LOADS of people who will insure me!!  dont like being LIED TO,. :spank

makes my MRC membership fee seem like a lot less value for money.

this thread sounds like a rant. its ok i can easily take my impeccable driving record and money elsewhere. anyone who isnt halfway to retirement know not to waste thier time.

Thanks for calling us peeps who\'ve made it past thirty "halfway to retirement" :D. I\'m getting so old I can\'t even remember where I put the pipes and slippers...

Actually, you\'ll probably find that a lot of other specialist brokers give you (or at least pretend to give you) a discount for being member of a car club so your membership fee isn\'t entirely wasted...

We also have a discount schemes with Adrian Flux along with Houghton insurance,Norton, Chis Knot along with others on production of your membership card so I can\'t really see how your membership has been devalued as you should be able to find a comparable alternative with one of the above.

Unfortunately any company has a right to alter its own rules.

I spoke to Adam the other day and he told me they will still consider stock cars with the owners under 30 ( i.e. 25 up) but not modded ones.

ok i didnt know we had a discount at other insurers - so maybe i should take the member fee comment back. i wish i was halfway to retirement - some of you only pay a measly 200 quid for your insurance! and your still all as crazy as people <30

my original thread sounded like a rant - this is always a stressfull time when you have barely enough time to scratch your own ass but still need to spend the day trying to find a good deal.

Ill try the others and see what happens.  apart from adrian flux, they have never ever been able to give me a competative quote since i started driving - ill not bother wasting my time with them.

It\'s not necessarily an "official" discount like the AON one or the ones Clive mentioned, but a lot of specialist insurers will tell you that they take club memberships into consideration (probably assuming that if you can be bothered to join a car club, you\'ll look after your car).
