Hi

Following on from original post..

I went on hol again for a week and when i came bak and tried to start the car, it took a few minutes before she fired. Started on one rotor but eventually coughed into life bellowing smoke..

HOWEVER for some reason the odometer was displyed again and the car ran fine... for 3 days!

Then pullin out of a petrol station, put the foot down and wack! car cut out and odemeter display dissapeared again... not come bak on since and car bak to old tricks again as above... damn!

I have re-checked battery, re done a few earth points and reconnected alot of the earthing kit that was dodgy, pulled the clocks  to check the plugs and generally fannied about trying to figure it out but abslutely no change!!

Feel like i wanna give up and punt her now.... noone seems to have a clue wot it could be and cant afford a long session in the tuners at the mo!

Any ideas???????

P.S also seems that coolant buzzer is not working and perhaps switch for rear-intensity (mounted on dash)????

I\'ve just added a ground cable back into the engine bay because my battery life was terrible. Maybe the grounding point that your using has gone bad, used to get it a couple of times when i had a monster stereo.

I\'ve just run 1 gauge (wanted 2 but couldn\'t get hold of it) from the battery back to the original mounting point. Not been able to see if this improves matters but hopefully it will. You need about 4 metres of cable (3.5 at a stretch) and you need to take the inner liner out to find a grommit hole big enough to get through the firewall.

Just out of interest what size cable are you running on the positive size. You need at least 2 gauge for 125amp over 4m.

This is the joy of owning a quick car, any quick car :p

Make sure you haven\'t got electrolytic capacitors that appear to be leaking brown stuff or that are bulging on the PCB behing the speedo.
I changed mine and it cured a whole load of probs.
