waterpump noise

Hi guys,

Just wondered if you can help me.

have a 93 fd which has a cat, crap air filters and a mooing noise coming from the air pump.  i disconected the air pump and the noise stopped.

Does anyone know what this is, and is it BAD!!!!

So it\'s an air pump noise, not a water pump noise (As the thread title says!?)

This is nothing to worry about!!! this is just the draw from the air pump as it engages & disengages....... if your still running a cat, plug it back in or you will fry the internals...... if your gonna decat then dont worry about it too much, but you will have problems come MOT time on the emissions!!!

You can fix this, although im nto sure how. Theres a restrictor plug that needs to go in the line from the air filter to the air pump if i remember correctly  do a search on rx7club.com for "moo noise"
