Please don\'t shout at me I\'ve spent the last 2 hours searching on here and am still a little confused:rolleyes:
After a hard drive my car does make a gurgling / boiling noise and I have been filling the cap that says "Radiator Coolant Only" by driver side headlight. I now know that this is the expansion tank and believe that maybe I have been filling at the wrong place. So I take off the metal cap in the middle of the engine and this has no water in so do I now fill this up?
Also the "do not remove" cap that of course I tried to remove wont come off and so I panic, kick myself for even trying to remove something that says "do not remove" and here I am asking this question.
Well actually after reading this back to myself there appears to be no question:Hammer
Is anyone local that can teach a complete spaz how to just check my coolant levels. I\'m usually more technical than this so please answer knowing that I\'m already embaressed :cheers

Hi Eddie,

Forget about the one on the wing and the one in front of the engine, only top up via the cap that is physically on the engine next to the altonator and the system will then find its only level.

I have known it many times where people top every thing up and then find the system is dumping water but the trouble is when the system trys to get rid of the excess water it then dumps out too much!

Lets hope this is all it is.
All the best Clive

Cheers for replies.
I have now filled up though filler neck (on engine) until AST is full aswell.
Now I have a new question, how do I know that my coolant buzzer is working as it has never gone off?
It didn\'t need very much water to fill about a mug full so maybe just not been low enough for buzzer but had the car for year and never gone off so is there a way to check?
Cheers

oh yes and when took off AST cap it had quite a bit of muck round it like black coolant is this bad oh and how do I check is AST car is functioning properly?
Cheers
