first 2 problems on my FD

hi

i have finally got my own FD:D and i couldn\'t be happier but for the 2 problems.

Problem 1. The 2nd turbo intermitently comes in, when it works it works but there seems to be no pattern that i can find. It maybe works 60% of the time.

problem 2. it has sprung a leak, its only very small but after 10 mins driving at low revs the add coolant buzzer comes on, i immediatly switch off and top it up. It is leaking from the left of the altinator kind of below and behind the radiator cap. its going into a garage on thur morning should i try to tape it just now and limp to the garage on thur?

any idea\'s?

Tape isnt likely to help.  Sounds like ite leasking under pressure when hot, ie coming out as steam and not a drip.

sounds like the waterpump to me.

dont move it, let it replace by mechanical.

how much is a water pump likley to cost?

am i damaging the engine driving it untill the coolant buzzer comes on, when i top it up.

i was hopeing for an apexi ecu but maybe need to put it on hold.

ok not so bad, i had a look in the light and its just a hose, i can see a small hole where it comes out the back of the water pump.

Marcs going to love you Rich (I\'m assuming it\'s there you are taking it), he is erm.... less than fond of the sequential setup on FDs .  Bob is waiting for bits so that it can be put back to working order on his car.  Hopefully it is nothing more serious than another split, or collapsing hose on yours.

Nothing really, it just likes to spend some time at it\'s second home  The exhaust is up so has to be refitted (may have been done today) and it needs a service and an (sharp intake of breath) MOT

I\'ll hopefully get it back on Saturday, so I can use it for 3 weeks before taking it back out again for intercooler, wideband & boost controller fitting.  As I said, it is the cars second home

Rich I have the same problem at the moment and am just waiting for some bits and bobs to come through.
My secondary normally falls on its face during transition. Recently the boost patern has started to flutter going through transition then at 5k hold a steady 10psi all they way to the redline. Sometimes creeps abit on the secondary after transition.
The secondary has been running alot stronger since the ECU was reset.
If you get it sorted give me shout and let me know what your problem was.
