Volk Racing GT series Centre Caps

Hi,

I managed to buy these through a Japanese friend of mine, I\'ve fitted one to my rear alloy wheel whilst it is on the car. This was a struggle but got the cap on by fluke in the end  (combination of twisting and pushing). Tried this again with the remaining centre caps but am struggling to fit them on the rest of the wheels.

Anyone with GT series wheels shed some light on the technique to fitting these caps or do i have to take each wheel off and try it that way (was trying to avoid it).

I didn\'t put mine on, the garage did that for me, but I was under the impression that they just used a rubber mallet and hammered them home - I may be wrong though.

MIne had a bit of grease on the rubber which enabled me to push them on by hand. Just don\'t try and get them off again!

Thanks guys, I will try and use a rubber mallet with a  bit of wood to protect them. I did try vaseline, but it just caused it to slip on one side when applying  pressure....ooer!

Just out of interest mate, how much did your friend get them for and could he get some for CE28s ?

He is actually a colleague at work who contacted his friend back in Japan to order the caps online locally (from autobacs) for delivery to his house and then send it to me in the UK.

Cost £60 (inclusive of delivery) doing it this way and arrived in 3 days to my door. I think on ebay there are around £100 plus delivery.

I could ask him and see what he says...

Ahh Autobacs.. if you ever go to Japan you need to go to one of these (or one of many others) they are totally amazing compared to our crappy Halfrauds stores! Row upon row of car heaven!!

Would be interested in that mate but can I contact you after Christmas, got too many bits to fit and a lot of shopping to be done first.
