loading the drivetrain by holding the handbrake worked for me but i have not had much practise
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

I think using the Handbrake does work, but it takes a bit of getting used to and realy only effects your reaction times.

If your racing for real then leaving the line is all important, it wins races!.

To me you should be sitting there hand on gear leaver and not the handbrake snoozing and be ready to change gear once your underway, plus you should really be able to "feel" your car and clutch well enough to have it ready to go and not need a hand brake.

An auto with a transbrake is a whole different deal as you need the revs raised to make a high stall torque converter to work properly.

So endeth the news from your resident Drag Racing Champion from 19 O dot, shame is I did it with an American Muscle car and not a Rotary   :) :Thumbs-up

I can understand the Gear change thing but on the cars that it takes a little longer in first it does work.

I think it maybe a Noob Trick in the Drag world and i can see how you would\'nt do it on more powerful cars but getting the all important load on the Engine so the Turbo\'s are getting more flow etc can\'t hurt?

Not to sound like a Boy racer but i\'ve messed about with different methods of getting off the line and it feels like i can get moving ALOT quicker by holding on a Handbrake, i tend to spin the wheels more when trying to judge how much to let out as not to Bog. I also it feels like there is more of a Rev drop when i take off Hard without Holding it.

But hey this must just be my Imagination :) Just keep your Fingure on the Button as you go to set off or you will a very Embarasing moment ;)
