PFC - Japan and USA versions

Does anyone know, if a USA version PFC will work with a FD from Japan?

I just purchased a \'93 FD (Japanese model) and would like to use my (USA version 414-Z004) that I have been running in my \'94 FD (USA model). The 4 pins are removed and all setting have been moved back to the original configurations. I assume that the only changes would be in the area of smog control and perhaps fuel octan?

Any information would be greatly appreciated
