Hey folks:wiggle

After 3days of removing and fitting a new diff on my lonesome.. took the car in for an MOT yesterday. Well it failed on a number of things but nothing too major, mostly emissions and light issues..which are easy enough to solve (£50 in the back pocket of tester). lol

However, when I got home i noticed the rear end of the car is covered in diff oil! I think I have damaged the oil seal where the drive shafts enter the diff. I had some issues getting the shaft back into the diff and could have possibly damaged that seal.

Can this be replaced, where can I get new seals and are the simple enough to replace?

Thanks folks... any help would be greatly appreciated !

Hi, when I had my diff off I changed mine as a precaution, got them from Gary at RotaryArt, only a few quid each. They are easy to replace, I just used the old ones up against the new ones and tapped them in carefully with a block of wood and a small hammer. Before you take the old ones out have a look to see how far they are pressed into the casing and put the new ones in the same.
When you put the ends of the drive shafts back in make sure the split washer on the end has the split upwards.

Thanks.. ill get them ordered asap.

Why should the split washer end be upwards? I didnt take note of that when I put them back in?
