Just curious, my car RPM and OIL pressure seems to be a little high when Idle and normal operating temprature (car is warmed up, pic below), what are the main causes of this? could it be because it hasn\'t been touched for a while?

Just letting you know, this is after touching it a few hours ago, I decided not to drive it just incase it could be something bad... its the first time I\'ve seen it like this... acceleration tapping doesn\'t help ._.

Dosn\'t look like there is anything wrong with that to me...

My car usually idles around 800rpm, but its idling around 950 now o_o wouldn\'t that mean anything? or does it need adjustment?
also the oil pressure is usually below 2 at idle, its just above 2 now.....

Quote from: will2jhave you checked your oil levels?

Yeah, oil levels seem to be fine, just unsure whats going on o_o;
Maybe I\'m just being over cautious, I\'m always like this >_<; I\'ve spent too much money on my car that if I even see the smallest problem I go crazy :X

Hmm 950 from 850 doesn\'t sound like there\'s a big problem or anything to worry about.

The slightly higher oil pressure could be because of the slightly higher idle...

Thanks for clearing that up, I think the car is due for a service anyway so I\'ll book it for sometime this week before sunday, hopefully the ideling will go down, understandable about the oil pressure, thanks for that :)

rx jamie

have you put a different grade of oil in than usual ?

Joeh

Yeah, could that be the reason by any chance?

monkey-fd3s

Certainly could have an effect - what oil are you using now... and what was in there before :)

Is your tacho acurate?

Mine is 500 rpm out as it broke.....

Got an apexi digin rev/speed counter to do the job now.
