Cold Air Ducting?

I have a problem with fairly high intake temps at the moment. On a recent visit to RE:worx Max suggested blocking off a hole in the ducting and extending the standard ducting behind the bumper.

The only problem is everything I\'ve tried to block the hole off hasn\'t worked! It just gets sucked into the ducting and dissapears! I even wrapped tape around the ducting housing and that still snapped the tape after a quick blast. I\'ve been using tape that is tough as old boots and good up to 200 degrees but it never seems to hold

What I\'m after is pix of what you guys use as ducting or if you have modified the standard ducting at all. Any help would be great.
