What sort of Info are you looking for?

Buying? or Running? stuff like that?

When your buying one think about what you want it for as well, are you going to tune in or is it going to stay stock with Body mods? This makes quite alot of diffrence becouse if you want a fairly Stock car with a kit then buy one thats had a rebuild recently and is going to be spot on for time to come, if you want to tune one you may be best off buying a Tuned/Single turbo car with lots of goodies thats has lost compression and wants a rebuild then have it Ported etc and you\'ll have a Fresh engined Rx with plenty of Hp.

The best advice i can give you being an Owner myself is look at as many as you can and only seriously look to buy one thats been Compression tested (so you know what condition the engine is in 6\'s runner poss origanal not much life left in it, 7\'s good origanal engine, 8\'s may have been rebuilt, 9\'s has been rebuild recently. Read up on how the comp test is done too or you may get confused with the std piston test which is diffrent)

which models to look at? got a round 5.5k budget....
better to get a low miles one or get one with slightly higher mile thats had a rebuild?

taking the running costs will be roughly the same as any hi power turbo car?

Always go with a rebuild always good to check the recipts and look into how good the guy who rebuilt it is, you want to see the build done by one of these Rxmotors,Reworx or WGT for a good start.

Rx\'s realy like to be looked after, if you do look after a stocker it may do 100k without needinga rebuild but if its abused it may do 40k so as Imports don\'t tend to have history your best of buying one thats rebuild so you know where you stand.

Model wise, if you are looking to do Trackdays stuff like that ;) you\'ll want a R,R1,R2 RZ or RS for the more sports inclined models, but to be quite honist there is\'nt alot between the diffrent models, the R\'s are a little lighter etc but the RB\'s are more spec\'d up

Running costs are in the same band as a Skyline or Supra, There\'s people getting high 20\'s but its not uncommon to get an rx under 15\'s MPG. i find insurance not to bad, its a high group but cheaper than a supra or Skyline, for this your best of getting you own qoute (check out some of the Insurance companies in the Insurance section)

Price wise it depents on a lot, people that have just rebuilt there cars will want to see some of the money back so they tend to go for 6500-7000, 5500 will get you a car thats ither Stock and had a Rebuild in the past or Mildly tunned and has not been rebuilt.

Personaly i would say try to get about 6-6500 together, you\'ll find a higher quality selection, this is about the Rebuilt twin turbo\'s price, you may get one for 5500 but look carfully at that money there is alot of C**p about.

Last thing, you\'ll hear lots of Horror storys about them but if you do your Homework and buy the right one it\'ll be the best car you have ever owned.

i have  heard a few horror stories , but i wana become an enthusist thru time like i did with my honda . there only one way to learn n thats to read up n research lol . so will 6k get me a reasonably clean rx with few mods like exhaus n filters maybe management?

thanks for your help so far gives me something so start with .

you mean like this.

As i say Horror storys are usaly people buying Poor examples or walking into ownership not knowing what they are buying. Do your home work (lots of reading) and you won\'t go wrong, Just remember to buy with your head not your Hart.

yeah allready had  a nose at this very clean just dont like the spoiler the car is perfect in every other way!

buy with your head and not your heart = heard that a few times on this forum lol

Donato

Hi welcome to the MRC! There are a few scottish people on here, next time there is a meet you can come along to get more info...

antnicuk

spoilers are very easy to change, and very easy to get hold of.  If the rest of the car is good, dont let the spoiler put you off!
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Devil\'s Refugee

Hi there, I\'m based in Edinburgh and have just bought a Rex myself from Newera Imports.
Speak with Miguel, I\'d highly recommend him. He also has a silver Rex with low miles for about £10k if you want to start afresh and then build up.
I\'ve just spent about £4k on mods and they\'re all waiting to be fitted when the car arrives late August. Can\'t wait to pick her up.

Hi there, welcome aboard!

Your Honda looks like a hell of a show car! Would you not want to start with a fairly blank canvas and then build the bodywork to suit?

If this is the case then just go for a sound car.  As others have said items such as spoilers are easy to change, and they are ten a penny on the \'net and the \'bay.  Dont let a couple of little things put you off a good car.

Now seems to be the time to buy too.  Many of us bought a year or more ago when prices were soooo much higher.  Seems as if you can get a hell of a lot of car for the cash nowadays (just look at Donoto\'s!!!).

The club is always there to help as you decide.
Good luck :)
