just fitted the decat pipe on my fd but it sits on the brace underneath and rattles! what can i do, can i just take off the brace alltogether or space it out with some washers? Theres also a weird hissing sound at about 2000rpm which i assume is the air pump (which isnt connected) how can i stop it?
cheers guys

Right ive put a bung in the end of the air pump pipe which has stopped that noise but will the pressure build up in the pipes & go pop?
Im going to try and fit a bracket to the decat pipe today to hold it up above the brace & stop the rattling!
Im loving the extra power though, i havent dared floor it yet. it picks up so much quicker!

can\'t you disconnect the airpump via the plug leading off from it?

Hope you\'re getting a remap soon!:)

is the plug under the bonnet? im a bit worried the pipe will burst because ive put a bung in the end but the pump is still running!

Yep should have an electrical connector attached to the airpump. Mine was unconnected when I got it  only started working once connected.

Can anyone shed some more light on this?

I\'ve just fitted a new exhaust which had a midpipe to replace my cat. I had a similar issue to spagram in that the exhaust wouldn\'t quite fit with the brace in place. The brace has 2 bars on it. Whilst I was out a mate decided it would be ok to cut one of the bars and fit it. Anyone know how important this brace is? If it\'s important I\'ll get a new one machined to fit.

Also with regards to the ait pipe. I\'ve been advised it needs blocking previously but haven\'t worked out why. I would have thought blocking it would result in something weird like idling higher than normal but then what do I know! :P

On a plus note for anyone worrying about emissions and the like. My UK car passed easily without the CAT in place :)

cheers
