I think you need more info?

Does it have anything done to it?

Are you using your Air con?

How short a trip?

Do you do alot of Short trips in it? Not getting it warm?

zed

hi mate

thanks for reply my car is standard .not using air con.
the short runs are about 10 mins. for examplewhen i start the car this morning everything will be ok. do my first journey ,park up for about 20 mins and then start it up again while the engine is still warm, that is when the problem occurs. its like the there is no idle control.

cheers

I have a very similar problem.

After a hot/warm start it frequently dies soon after. However, it starts again without problem and is ok from then on???!!!

I was thinking along the lines of some sort of malfunction in the cold start system? Maybe it\'s coming on everytime?

Was going to take it to a specialist but funds are a bit tight at the mo. But when the situation improves I\'ll have an expert look at it.

Sorry I couldn\'t of been more help.

ps if you sort it - let me know!!

I did call you Zed the same day you posted here...but no reply.

Is the problem sorted yet or not??

You could try adjusting the idle screw at the throttle body. when cold it has an accelerated cold start procedure which could allow it to idle fine, but then when warm should idle by itself - it\'s possible that if the idle screw was not adjusted correctly it could be trying to idle too low.
