Second time:
Guys I desperately need some advice/direction. I own a 94 RX7. Two weeks ago as I was pulling off the highway I noticed that my car lost power and became erratic.  I managed to get home and the next day I pulled the plugs.  The leads were fouled up so I replaced all four of them.  Same deal no improvement, same loss of power, and erratic idle.  I teach and have limited time to play with my toy so it sat for a week.  This past saturday I tried starting her and she does not fire up!  She turns over but does not fire up!!!  Please advise!!!  I have the following mods:  Apex ECU,  full exhaust, and a greddy bov. Please help I don\'t know if I should be looking for sensors or some type of code.  If so, please share how I can do this.  This is the first twinturbo edition that I own and I\'m trying to learn. She was running great until this mishap.  Many thanks!!!

Have you done stuff like checked your plugs, etc? May now be flooded from trying to start it, so it would be worth taking them out to check that out, anyway.

Yes, initially plugs were fouled up, so I replaced them and the car started but still ran poorly.  The car sat for a week and now does not start.  My question is where can I start looking as far as sensors or codes.  I\'m handy but need direction on what to loo for.  Any help greatly appreciated.

when car started playing up had u been booting it just before..when it was running was boost gge fluttering and idle become lumpy..these are all signs of lost tips

Compression test would be the first thing to check mate,3 compressions per rotor so 6 in total, all need to be 6-8 bar ideally.

if its now running ok then u havnt got compression or tip probs as these dont go away no matter how much u pray..best to get a pro to give it once over as thay can usually diagnose prob in about 5 mins as they have seen so many probs on these cars i think it is now second nature..if there is one thing u can rely on its that these cars are unreliable :rollin  :rollin

As said before mate, compression test is first thing to check imo.

Rx7veilside - Its not running ok mate,if you read the posts the one about running ok ,smoking on idle is from someone else!!!!!!!! not from joeblue43.

This is joeblue43, thanks for the tips.  Question, can I check any sensor or codes at home before I have the car towed to a shop.  Should i check any other components?  Is there a way of checking codes?  I was thinking of pulling the apex fc and commander and running the stock computer. What do you guys think?

rx7veilside

standard ecu wont allow u to check anything with a diagnostic/apexi allows some checks but to be honest a pro will diagnose a lot quicker than than fumbling around and sometime there can be more than one prob..smoking is not a huge issue as all rx7 smoke in one way or another..how close is ur nearest expert

rx7veilside

zed if it running ok now just pop into one of the experts for a once over at most it will cost an hours labor and it might save some grief as even changing the plugs is awkward..i tend to find the problems myself if poss but then take it to the experts with all info i have..these cars are tempramental and not all niggles are major

rx7veilside

have u posted on rx7club.com wealth of info on there and someone might be local who is handy with a setof spanners
